The importance of link Building

Top directory ranking are most readily achieved by establishing links to published articles and other popular websites, blogs and directories. The more traffic to the linked sites, the better. Search engines place considerable emphasis on links and the keywords contained in the linked materials. In reality, link building is one of the most important functions of well-implemented SEO program. Thus, the optimizer of any website needs to submit the website to as many directories and other websites as possible.
Linkage is achieved by including the website’s URL in either the linked-to material or, in certain cases, the author’s profile on the page, or both. Linking should not be done until the website has been fully optimized and is as search engine friendly as it can be without sacrificing copy relevance to visitors. Once this has been accomplished, articles, blogs, press releases, etc., should be written and placed. Other websites serving the same industry can be contacted and a reciprocal link established. These are very-valuable links indeed.
One point worth noting: Even a new site can be indexed by the search engines more quickly if it has incoming links. Google has said, for example, that “The best way to ensure that Google locates your site is to be certain that your pages are linked to many other sites. Google’s search robots go from page to page on the Internet via hyperlinks, so the more sites linked to you the quicker we will find you.”
Google’s Guidelines do discourage using “link farms” or other mass linking processes to increase links to your website. Thus, it is important NOT to use web spammers or bad neighborhoods on the Internet as these links can affect your page ranking negatively. Instead, wisdom dictates plain old hard work without any shortcuts.
